Avoneil was the
setting and Ards Swimming Club the opposition. City of
Belfast was out in force with a team of over 45 swimmers
against what was a very competitive Ards team.
City of
Belfast as usual where in fine voice throughout the night
with some super racing from all the swimmers. Some races were very close with
some exciting finishes, the 3rd race of the night providing City of
Belfast with the first win the 1997 medley relay team
coming home just touching out a fast gaining Ards relay.
There were fine swims from all the age groups and hopefully everyone who
competed enjoyed their racing. Team selection will change a little from gala to
gala and whilst fielding our strongest swimmers and want to give everyone a
chance at racing in a teletots gala this season. So keep your attendance up and
listen to your coaches.
Love my stats so here’s some from the gala,
individual swims

COBSC swimming hats

not enough
That’s a 74%
strike rate not bad for Avoniel and the first gala of the season for most
swimmers. I’m very pleased as a coach but we can always do better and will
working towards the next teletots against Templemore. Two things for the next
gala everyone with City of Belfast swimming hats and navy T-shirts please no
exceptions I want us looking like a team as
well as sounding like one, the second one is that the parents get more vocal
behind all the swimmers (just like the kids!!!).
