News IMPORTANT DATES FOR JUNE 13/5/2010 On behalf of the Committee I would like to make you aware of some dates for the diary in June. June as always, while near the end of the season, is a very busy time. Therefore we felt it would be good to give you as much notice as possible for these important events. 1. Friday 4th June is the Teletots Final – this will be held at Armagh (because all the teams swim on the same night across all the Divisions, pools are hard to get) and will determine if we stay in the current division or move down next year. David will decide nearer the time who is required to go as we only swim two swimmers in each individual event as we swim against two other clubs on that night. 2. Sunday 6th June will be the club AGM to which all parents are cordially invited. An agenda will be issued shortly. The meeting will probably be held at Olympia during the training sessions to make the logistics as easy as possible. We are just checking with the Leisure Centre to confirm this is ok. It is very important that we get as many parents attending as possible. It is after all your club and we all need to be involved to keep it going. If you would like to discuss anything about joining Committee or helping in any way please feel free to talk to any Committee member prior to the meeting. Even volunteering to help without becoming a Committee member would be fantastic. 3. Sunday 13th June will be the Junior Club Gala. Again this will be in Olympia and is great fun way to end the season for the swimmers. It will take place at the usual times perhaps going on past the usual 6pm finish. Again we will issue further details when David has completed the schedule. Please attend if at all possible it is a great way to see the progress the swimmers have made over the season and if you are really lucky you might get to time keep as well!! 4. Finally Wednesday 16th June will see the Club Prizegiving and BBQ. This year it will be held at Harlequins Sports Grounds at Deramore Park, Malone Road. At this event prizes for galas and other awards will be made by the coaches. We then use the occasion to spend a bit of social time together which doesn’t involve sitting at a swimming pool. There will be a cost for anyone who wishes to eat at the BBQ and tickets for adults and children will soon be on sale from Committee members. There is no obligation to purchase a ticket, so if you wish to attend but don’t want to eat no problem please just come along. Times and costs will be advised very soon. Mark Beattie
